Okay..so I signed up for twitter a couple of weeks ago. I am still trying to figure out how on earth it works and why people would spend any time "tweeting" someone. I have a "public" profile - RevKent that I use and now I have some random people following my "tweets". Why? I have no idea. I am following Barack Obama, David Letterman, the UCC, the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Lakers. Maybe over time I will figure out what this is all about? Any guidance would be most appreciated. You can tweet me at RevKent.

I find the most helpful thing is to subscribe to the RSS feeds of people I want to "follow" and then include that in my daily RSS feed. That way I see when someone tweets without having to check Twitter.com.
It's helpful because it's a way to share articles, announce where you're going for lunch in case ppl want to join you there, or send out breaking news if you're at a particular event. At Love Makes a Family, we'll tweet every ten minutes or so from a legislative committee hearing or press conference. This lets our members and followers get the news as fast as possible, before we can upload it to our website or send out an email.
Just a couple ideas. I'd tweet you, but this was far too long. But I'm glad we're following each other now. I'll RSS-subscribe to you. :o)
Aren't there any good sports teams in Florida? LM
